How to make the perfect "Memory Album"
Basically, the hardest part of the process is the decisions. You need to decide what photos to use, how many and in what order. What type of music, how long should your "Memory Album" be? Do you want to put it in chronological order or some other way? The options can be endless and confusing. Unfortunately, we at Larson Productions can't make those decisions for you but we can give you the guidance to turn all that work into a family heirloom to show over and over. Why not do it yourself, you have a computer and all that great software? Well, our system is made specifically for the production of full frame, digital video that can be mastered to Tape or DVD the way it's done on a professional level. Our technicians have the skill and experience to make the decisions to make everything look as good as possible.
The Process
Larson Productions prefers 2 weeks lead time for the preparation of your "Memory Album". Rush orders can be accommodated at an extra charge. Each photo or slide is digitized into our system. Any minor color correction is done and then the editing process begins.
Sizes and Display Duration
Realistically, any "Memory Album" over 15 minutes can be a little much. We like to see them range from 10 to 15 minutes unless it is a special presentation that must go longer. Pictures are on the screen about 5 to 7 seconds depending on the music you choose or other considerations. A 15 minute 'Memory Album" would require 4 or 5 songs depending on your situation. We can include pictures 8" x 10" down to wallet size. Larger Photos are an additional charge (see pricing). Slides can be included and we can even get pictures from your negative if the print is long gone and that's all you have.
Music
We can accept music on CD, Record, cassette or digital file (mp3 or .wav). We prefer digital formats for clarity. If music is going to be edited for your "Memory Album" there is an additional charge. This would occur if you wanted certain songs shortened or started at places other than the beginning. This is a complex process and requires additional time and cost. We have generic copyright free music we can supply if you wish but for specific songs it is best for you to provide us the music to use.
Putting it All Together
Once you've made all the decisions it's time to get the elements to us. Photos need to be numbered in the order they need to be shown, music needs to be ready and titles should be written out, spelling checked and be legible. We need a "storyboard" or table of contents giving us the specifics of how your "Memory Album" will be produced. This is the most important part of this project. With everything clearly labeled and organized we can meet and go over your "Memory Album" and begin the process of creating your treasure.
Do not write on the back of photos in ink. The porous paper may bleed ink thru to the actual photograph or, if the ink is not dry, it can wind up on the next photo that is laid on top. We recommend a Sharpietm Brand market or Post-Ittm notes and stick that to the picture.
By doing your homework we can focus on doing what we at Larson Productions do best. "Keeping Memories Alive". If you have any questions or concerns just give us a call or drop us a line.
